My football coach (soccer) plays me in defence and i dont like it that much.?

He plays me in left back just because one day, the team needed a left back and I was the only left footed player so, I played there the whole game and he tought i was good but its just because my clearences are good because ive good a good kick and my pes start off attacks. But i've played as a striker for since ive been about 5 (im 14 now) and i was always scoring goals. The team has just signed a new striker and he's pretty good like me left footed, fast and strong but he plays upfront with this other boy and lets just say hes not the best apple in the tree. My coach has told me to my face that he would play me as a striker but he never has and i really dont know what i should do? Any advice would be much appricieated Thanks :)
